                  Abstract:Thebridgepiersintheriverchangetheoriginalflowcharacteristicsnearby,whichmayaffecttheforma
                  tionandevolutionoficejamnearthepiersinwinter.Basedontheflumemodeltest,thecriticalconditionsofice
                  jam developmentthroughdoublepierswereanalyzedbychangingthepiercenterdistance ,pierdiameter,pier
                  type ,icewaterflowratioandflowFroudenumber.ThetestshowsthatthereisacriticalFroudenumberinthesec
                  tionwheretheicejamcandevelopthroughthepier,anditsvalueiscontrolledbythefactorssuchaspiercenter
                  distance ,pierdiameter,piertypeandicewaterflowratio.Withthedecreaseofpiercenterdistanceorthein
                  creaseoficewaterflowratioandpierdiameter ,itbecomesmoredifficultfortheicejamtodevelopthroughthepier
                  section ,andthedifficultyofsquarepierishigherthanthatofcylindricalpier.Withinthetestrange,withthede
                  creaseofpiercenterdistance ,theicetransportcapacityoftheriversectionatthepierisenhanced,andtheinitial
                  icejamthicknessincreases ,buttheicejamequilibriumthicknessdecreases.
