Abstract:Inordertosimplifytheoptimizationalgorithmandimprovetheefficiencyofthearchdam,andtofurther
improvethecomprehensiveperformanceofthearchdam , thispaperfirstlystudiedthedifferentinfluencesof
variousshapeparametersofanarchdam onitsstressconditionandvolume ,classifiedthoseintotwocategories,
namely,thicknessandcurvatureradius.Thenproposedtheparameter - classifiediterationbasedonthedifferent
sensitivitiesofthestressconditionandvolumetothesetwoparameters.Finallyachievedarapidreductioninthe
volumeofthedamwhileensuringthatthedamstressesmeetthedesignspecifications.Basedonthearchdamshape
obtainedfromthisoptimizationalgorithm,furtheradjustmentscouldbemadeinaccordancewithactualengineering
needs ,resultinginafinalshapethatimprovedmultiplefunctionalobjectives.Thisapproachcombiningalgorithm
andengineeringexperienceforoptimizingthearchdamshapewassuccessfullyappliedtotheYebatanArchDamon

theJinshaRiver.Itachievedexcellentresults,includingareductionof93,000m inthebasicshapevolumeatthe
constructionstagecomparedtothetenderdesignstage,andsimultaneousimprovementsinvariousindicatorssuch
asdamstress ,deformation,andadaptability.
