Abstract:Thestudyofflowbedresistanceinalluvialriverhasasignificantimpactonfloodevolutionandriverbed
deformation.Therefore,thisarticlefirstanalyzesthecorrelationbetweenmultiplesinglehydraulicfactors,dimen
sionlesshydraulicparametersandroughnesscoefficientsusingthefieldtestdatafrom thelowerreachesofthe
YellowRiver.Itconcludesthattheprimaryhydraulicfactorsinfluencingroughnessarewaterdepth,slope,sedi
mentconcentration ,andlongitudinalstabilitycoefficientoftheriverchannel.Subsequently,basedonthegeneral
expressionofZhang’sflowvelocityandprinciplesofriverdynamics,thestudydeterminesindicesforwaterdepth
andslope ,whichreflecttheeffectsofphysicalcharacteristicssuchasvelocitygradients,riverbedstability,and
sedimenttransportintensityonhydraulicresistance.Then ,aformulaforcalculatingriverbedslopeandhydraulic
energyslopeisproposed ,whichavoidsusingsurfaceslopevalueswithsignificantobservationerrorstodirectlysub
stitutethehydraulicgradient , therebyenhancingtheaccuracyofroughnesscalculations.Finally, aformula
suitablefortheYellowRiverwasestablished ,whichcanbeusedtocalculatetheflowresistancewithonlyafew
measuredparameters.Verifiedby3188setsofmeasureddatafrom themainandtributariesoftheYellowRiver ,
theroughnesscalculatedusingthismethodisquitesimilartothemeasuredvalues,withacorrelationcoefficientof
0.894andarelativeerrorofonly16.5%.Themethodinthispapercanprovidetheoreticalsupportforthecalcula
tionofwaterflowresistanceintheYellowRiver.
